Once upon a time, you had a phone number. You and this phone number frolicked together through fields of flowers. You sipped pina coladas on a tropical beach. You snuggled in close as you watched the sunset over the mountains.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

But, one day, amidst the chaos of life, you lost each other. Separated, but not forgotten.<\/p>\n

Days, months, years flew by. You call the number from time to time and no one answers. Sometimes, a robotic voice on the other end says, “this number is not in service<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

You stumble across our website and wonder, “Perhaps they can reunite me with my long, lost number!<\/em>”<\/p>\n

While we at NumberBarn are a team of magical unicorns, we may not have all the fairy dust in the world to help you get your number back.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But, we can at least guide you in the right direction.<\/p>\n

Here is some helpful advice to get you on your way:<\/p>\n

The Number Doesn’t Belong to You Anymore<\/h3>\n

You may have had that number for years and years. But, when cancel your service or delete the number, you relinquish the number and it no longer belongs to you. Some providers may have a short window of time in which you can restore the number. Be sure to check with that provider to learn more.<\/p>\n

The Number Will Not Be Found in a Giant Pool<\/h3>\n

Just because you delete your number or your number is inactive, it doesn’t mean that you can go grab that number from any provider. Phone numbers are managed by carriers. Not all service providers use the same carrier. If you delete a number with one provider, you can’t expect it to be available with a different provider.<\/p>\n

I Don’t Remember My Provider<\/h3>\n

Phone numbers are held by carriers. The carrier of a number may not necessarily be the actual service provider. If you don’t remember what provider you had, you can at least start by searching to find the underlying carrier of the number. There are many options out there (a Google search<\/a> returns a variety of websites), but you can use FreeCarrierLookup.com<\/a> for a quick and easy solution. Once you know the name of the carrier, you can reach out to see if they’ll guide you to the provider.<\/p>\n

What You Can Do Right Now<\/h3>\n
