Search <a href=\"https:\/\/www.numberbarn.com\/numbers\">local phone numbers<\/a> in the US or Canada currently in inventory on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.numberbarn.com\/vanity-phone-numbers\">website<\/a>. Pay attention to the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_K07nycGv6g\">activation time frame<\/a> <\/strong>of the number before you make your selection:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This time frame is visible before you purchase the number as well as afterward in your NumberBarn control panel.<\/li>\n<li>The number will not be \u201cactive\u201d until that time frame completes.<\/li>\n<li>We email you once the number is active.<\/li>\n<li>Once you receive that email, you can initiate your port request to your new provider.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 2: Select a temporary plan with NumberBarn<\/h2>\n<p>Even if your number is with us for a short time, <em>you\u2019ll need to select a service plan<\/em> to keep your number active during the porting process. You can view our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.numberbarn.com\/pricing\">plans and pricing<\/a> here. If you want some advice, if you\u2019re looking to port away after your number has activated, select our Port Away plan.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 3: Your Number activation<\/h2>\n<p>As mentioned above, you cannot port your number away until it\u2019s activated. The time frame for activation will also be available for you in your NumberBarn account by selecting Numbers from the navigation bar and selecting on your number. For more information on how activation works, <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_K07nycGv6g\">click here<\/a>. Note we also do not charge you until your number activates in your account.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 4: How to port away<\/h2>\n<p>First, obtain the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2Lx7bIZM1Hs&t=\">porting away details<\/a> from within your NumberBarn account. If you\u2019re not sure how that works, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2Lx7bIZM1Hs&t=\">click here<\/a>. Once you have those details in hand, contact your new provider to initiate the port request to their service. <em><strong>The port away will take anywhere from 3-7 business days to complete (note this does not include weekends or holidays).<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h2>What\u2019s next?<\/h2>\n<p>Once your number moves to your cell phone, we\u2019ll notify you via email.
