etc.) and <strong>don\u2019t mind what the actual numbers are<\/strong>, do the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\"><strong>How to change your Verizon number using your Verizon Account (browser)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Log in <\/strong>using the <a href=\"https:\/\/secure.verizon.com\/signin?_gl=1*2o0c42*_ga*MTgzMjI3NzIxNS4xNzM3NDg1MTIx*_ga_12R1DX1LX7*MTczNzQ4NzA1NC4yLjEuMTczNzQ4NzA4Mi4zMi4wLjA.\">Verizon Account Login Page<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to the <strong>Account<\/strong> tab<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <strong>Devices<\/strong>, select the number you want to change<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201c<strong>Manage<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201c<strong>Get a new number<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enter the ZIP Code<\/strong> associated with the number you\u2019re changing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the <strong>drop-down menu<\/strong> and decide among the <strong>pre-selected, first six digits<\/strong> you want your number to be, then select \u201c<strong>Next<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the <strong>drop-down menu<\/strong> to decide among the <strong>pre-selected, last four digits<\/strong>, then select \u201c<strong>Done<\/strong>\u201d\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Note:<\/strong> You can do up to six re-rolls of these pre-selected numbers per <strong>authorization code<\/strong>, then enter that code, and select \u201c<strong>Next<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review all your changes once more, then finalize everything by selecting \u201c<strong>Confirm<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reset<\/strong> your phone<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Doing this process online waives a $15 fee, versus if you were to call Verizon and have a Verizon representative do this for you over the phone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>How to change your Verizon number using your Verizon App<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are using your Verizon app, it\u2019s a similar process, and only the first few steps are different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Log in<\/strong> to your account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201c<strong>Manage device\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201c<strong>Preferences<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201c<strong>Get a new number<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enter the ZIP Code<\/strong> associated with the number change my Verizon number?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In short, <strong>you typically do not get to choose the numbers when you change your number through Verizon<\/strong>, as your number is typically based on your area code, plus a randomly generated selection of numbers. (Verizon gives you up to six assortments of numbers to choose from a day.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But you can get around this problem by porting your own number in, which is a lot easier than you might think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>How do I get a new vanity number I can import to my Verizon account?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Verizon does allow you the ability to import, or \u201cport\u201d a new (or old) phone number. Doing this uses basically the same process as transferring your old number into a Verizon account \u2014 in this context however, it can be used to get around Verizon\u2019s limitations with letting you choose your unique vanity number for yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(<strong>PLEASE NOTE<\/strong>: Not <em>all<\/em> numbers are portable, and porting is ultimately up to the discretion of Verizon.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Get a new number outside of Verizon<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p> Finding a number that both works for you and that can be ported will depend on a few factors, such as if you are seeking a number with tons of business features, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.numberbarn.com\/blog\/how-to-get-1-800-number\/\">a toll-free number<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.numberbarn.com\/vanity-phone-numbers\">vanity number<\/a> (i.e., a unique number that\u2019s easy to remember, or \u201cspells out\u201d a message), and\/or in some cases, need international texting ability \u2014 a Google Voice number, for example, only allows SMS messaging (i.e., texting) to U.S. numbers only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want tons of choices and the <strong>cheapest<\/strong>, <strong>most straightforward porting<\/strong>, we recommend using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.numberbarn.com\/search\">NumberBarn\u2019s free number search tool<\/a> to find your ideal number. Once you\u2019ve found it, head on over to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verizon.com\/switch-to-verizon\/check-status\/\">check the eligibility<\/a> to determine if it\u2019s portable to Verizon.
