Ensuring your privacy with calls & texts

NumberBarn takes a number of precautions to ensure the security of your data. For example, accounts are password protected and email notifications for SMS and voicemail notifications are subject to TLS encryption.

TLS stands for Transport Layer Security.

It is used to secure traveling data from your web browser and website via HTTPS. It is also used to secure email, online shopping and much more.

You may be familiar with the older version, Secure Socket Layer (SSL), that was in use a long time before TLS was introduced.

Our voice and SMS services are secure within our network, however, as soon as we deliver those calls or messages to the PSTN (Plain Standard Telephone Network) there is no end-to-end encryption for those messages.

This means once the call or text reaches your phone, if you’re using call forwarding for example, the protection is then picked up on that particular device.

If you’re curious how this is handled with your external provider, be sure to contact them to learn more.

If you’re ever concerned about your privacy or safety at NumberBarn, be sure to let us know.

We believe behind every telephone number there’s a beautiful idea, opportunity, or person. We strive to create those meaningful connections every day. To learn more about us, visit NumberBarn.com and follow us on FacebookInstagramPinterestLinkedIn and Twitter.
