Episode #8: 3 Ways to Authorize Your Transfer Request

Here’s some personal advice: don’t squat with your spurs on!

But really – this isn’t about squats or spurs.

Transferring your number to NumberBarn from a different service provider? Well, giddy up! This video will show you the 3 ways to authorize that request.

Options 1 and 2: Call or Text

From within your account, you can have the NumberBarn system call or text the number you’re transferring with a snazzy 4 digit code. This code will only send a message or call to the number you’re transferring to us. It won’t call your personal cell phone, your mom’s cell phone or your dog’s cell phone. It can only call the number you are transferring.

We cannot change the number to which it calls. The reason for this is because we need to make sure you own the number you’re transferring to us.

Once you get the code, either by phone or text, enter it into your control panel and your port will be submitted to your current service provider for approval.

Option 3: Letter of Authorization and Copy of Bill

Hold your horses! If you don’t have access to the number to which you are transferring, no worries. You can fill out and autograph a letter of authorization (LOA) that we have for you in your online account. You’ll email this to support@numberbarn.com along with a recent copy of bill dated within the last 30 business days (COB) from your current service provider.

We’ll then review and process your documents, sending your port over to your current service provider for approval.

Things to know

  • Porting takes 3 to 7 business days, up to 10 business days, to complete from another service provider to NumberBarn.
  • We will notify you via the email address on your NumberBarn account every square dancin’ step of the way.

We’re NumberBarn, we take phone numbers very seriously. But, we also like to have a little fun. To sign up, visit NumberBarn.com and follow us on FacebookInstagram and Twitter.
